 Can someone tell me how to pronounce words which have double consonants. such as akkenai (short and simple adj.) is that pronounced AK-KENAI or AKENAI ie. do u make the consonant sound twice? thanks so much x

Dave in Kenai gave good advice last year and anyone else is welcome to chip in. I'm taking my 70 year old mom to AK in June, she just retired from a pretty physical. I was in AK in 2003. I've got the air tickets. It might be possible to tweak travel days but for now: Arrive ANC Mon 1230 AM, pick up rental car, go sleep. The next travel date is Saturday 1 PM leave ANC; 7PM arv Barrow; stay 23 hrs; leave for NYC Sun 6:20 PM. My wants: trip to Denali national park for ... View All

My wants: trip to Denali national park for 1.5-2 days. 1.5 days in Seward for the fjord tour (Last time I was in Seward our boat turned back due to ocean waves- I really want to see a good fjord tour. I've considered going to Valdez instead and will keep it as a back-up just in case) Orig planned on drive to Fairbanks/Chena Hot Springs on route to Arctic Circle but with the flight to BRW, the long trip north seems pointless. some activities for mom: sea-kayaking; lazy river-rafting, light hiking, lots of driving.  looking for camp grounds for a 21 foot motor home with computer hot spot access so I can retrieve and send e-mails at the end of my fishing day. Where in AK or in the Kenai can someone camp and still receive a wireless hot spot?
