Marana is a growing town located northwest of Tucson in Pima County, Arizona, United States. The Town incorporated in 1977. The population was 13,556 at the 2000 census. A July 1, 2005 estimate by the Pima Association of Governments put Marana's population at 26,725. According to 2006 Arizona Department of Economic Security estimates, the population of the city is 30,435.[1] Marana was the fourth fastest-growing place among all cities and towns in Arizona of any size from 1990 to 2000.

The town extends along Interstate 10 from the line between Pinal and Pima County to the Tucson city line, excepting the area around the unincorporated community of Rillito. The city has a more rural character than Tucson and a rich history of farming and ranching. The Tucson Mountains and the western half of Saguaro National Park are located to the west. Southern Marana has grown over the past few years with the addition of businesses and housing. It is located a one-hour drive south of Phoenix, AZ.

Marana also hosted the PGA Tour's WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in February 2007, an event that included 64 of the world's best professional golfers. Henrik Stenson won the inaugural event. The tournament will remain in Marana through at least 2010.
