Altamonte Springs is a city in Seminole County, Florida, United States. A northern suburb of Orlando, Florida. The city's name is Spanish for "high hill." [1] The population was 41,200 at the 2000 census. According to the 2006 U.S. Census Bureau's Estimates, the city had a population of 40,613. The city is part of the Orlando-Kissimmee, Florida, Metropolitan Statistical Area, which the census bureau estimated had a 2006 population of 1,984,855.[2]
