Resolved Question: Mexicans boxing fans - Are you backing up Oscar De La Hoya in his fight vs. Manny Pacquiao?

De La Hoya claims that this fight is personal since Pacquiao has beaten Mexican greats such as Morales, Barrera, and though through a very close decision, Marquez. However, I think the general sentiment that Mexican boxing fans have is that De La Hoya should have fought the Mexican Welterweight Champion - Antonio Margarito. De La Hoya has stated that his main reason of not fighting Margarito is that he is Mexican - though he did make an attempt to fight another Mexican, Sergio Mora. As Mexican boxing fans, what do you make of this, and are you really supporting De La Hoya ...

Resolved Question: If you want to see an exciting, competitive fight, who do you think Oscar should fight on Dec 6?

Why are all these wanna-be hardcore boxing fans calling for Margarito and even Pavlik? Anyone with any sense knows that Oscar is an over-the-hill semi-retired fighter who does NOT rank in the top ten of any weight class. Oscar no way deserves a shot at Margarito the 147 champ. He hasn't even fought at 147 since 2001!! Title shots should be EARNED. De La Hoya vs. Pacquiao at 147 will be a competitive fight with Oscar being the slight favorite, because of how badly faded Oscar is in 2008 (see Forbes' fight). It is meaningless for Oscar, but who ... View All

It is meaningless for Oscar, but who cares about Oscar's legacy? Pacquiao would be the biggest boxing star in the world if he wins this fight! Only other fight that would be competitive is Sergio Mora but Mora is not exciting like Pacquiao is. We should recognize De La Hoya - Pacquiao for what it is. An exciting and major boxing event. An exhibition that is great for boxing because it's the fast skilled little guy in his prime against the powerful, older veteran with the big name. It's not a title fight, or meaningful in the divisional sense. Close All

Resolved Question: Why are people calling Oscar a chicken?? ?

Not too long ago, I heard many say "Oscar has never ducked anybody". Now he's a chicken. WHY is that? Let's just see an Oscar on Social Security beat the hell out of Pacquiao. I don't want to see this fight, but I do want Paquiao to take a beating. De La Hoya is not fighting Margarito, so I rather see this fight than De La Hoya vs Mora. I'm not a Pacquiao hater, I just want all those Pacquiao NUT-HUGGERS to STFU.

Resolved Question: Who else thinks Oscar is making a fool of himself by running and making excuses not to fight Margarito?

First before the battle Oscar went on quote saying that he would fight the winner of the battle and it would be a great way to end his career. He also said that he thought cotto would win and even though he was margaritos friend and mentor he picked cotto. Then after margarito won nobody heard anything of him calling margarito or anything, the reason was because he did not want to fight a mexican, yet now that pacqiau fights have broken down he immediately went after Sergio Mora another mexican. Now he says paul williams is not getting his share and that margarito should fight him, well you should fight him first because this is your last fight. Margarito has been cheaped out of fights his whole career, all the big names like mosley, mayweather, de la hoya, and other big names wanted no part while margarito was racking up defenses against good solid fighters like now ibf champion clottey and knocking out cintron twice and now he beats the best welterweight no doubt and he still cant get a big fight cause nobody wants to fight him. This guy has been gyped out of fights for years and i think it is time that even oscar who has fought everyone should stop running and fight him and give him the promise he made to margarito as a sparring partner for de la hoya "i will fight you down the road" and give him his shot much like Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. gave a young strong de la hoya his shot and passed down the mexican torch in boxing and now i think it is time for a changing the guard from de la hoya to Antonio Margarito?Anyone agree?
