Missoula is a city in and the county seat of Missoula CountyGR6 in western Montana, United States. As of the United States 2000 Census, the population was 57,053, making it the second-largest city in Montana. Missoula is the home of the University of Montana. It is the birthplace of Jeannette Rankin (1880 - 1973), the first woman elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. Missoula is nicknamed the Garden City.
