Voting Question: Looking for an apartment in the Pinehurst, NC area?
I need to find a 2 bedroom apt. for no more than about $610 a month, it can be in Pinehurst, Aberdeen, or Southern Pines. I go to school there and now work there but currently have a hour long drive to there and an hour back, and with gas as high as it is, well you get my meaning. So can anyone help? Resolved Question: "Applesauce Bread" at a farmer's market in Aberdeen, NC -- 11 years ago?
Hi,
I was just reminded of something that I had a long time ago and had forgotten all about until the memory came flying back just today!
It was called "applesauce bread" and I got it at a farmer's market either in Aberdeen or Southern Pines, North Carolina --11 years ago now! It is hard to say which town it was actually in, as they kind of run together right there, although it seems like it was just off of an exit on Highway 1, but can't say for sure.
Anyway, it was really pretty much just like ... View All
Hi,
I was just reminded of something that I had a long time ago and had forgotten all about until the memory came flying back just today!
Anyway, it was really pretty much just like regular white bread, but it was homemade and had a bit of a different texture to it. It was really delicious and I am wondering if anyone knows of a recipe for it, as I would like to try making it myself. It didn't taste like applesauce and it didn't have any spices in it. Like I said, it was pretty much just some kind of white bread. I imagine the applesauce could have been in place of the shortening or oil or something.
Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated.
Also, I am wondering if this is actually a regional type recipe, or if it was just something that these people happened to be making and selling. Close All
