Resolved Question: Anyone going to Sat theatre matinees to escape the rain? @ Liverpool? B'pool? Manchester? Chester? Southport??

Just time to print perky musical comedy @ Playhouse:- Once Upon a Time at The Adelphi Liverpool Playhouse, Williamson Square With a toe-tapping score and a host of exuberant characters this romantic musical journey is a joyful celebration of Liverpool and one of Britain's most unique hotels. I'm off now to Ormskirk Market & an early 11.45-ish all-day bargain brekkie @ Disraelis, then hit http://www.FACT.co.uk for 1.20 show of WALL-E Could YOU be destined for greater things? Need encouragement to go 4 it, so ya can actually achieve it? Great movie for that, eh? OH ... View All

Need encouragement to go 4 it, so ya can actually achieve it? Great movie for that, eh? OH: ya have 6 hrs 50 mins left to download & print ya entry form for "You call it talent? Now That's What We Call Culture?" @ http://www.Liverpool08.com Me? I got diverted on Wed I'll go down to Arena Box Office after WALL-E &would gladly accompany nervous hopefuls who see it & get inspired & encouraged, OK? C U there then! Google 'theatres whats on' & print to help other readers, yes? Hi James! From the blue sky now, not me either - unless a wet pm is forecast Actually, if anyone is planning to see WALL-E today, I'd advise against it unless ya have little kids in tow Put it this way: the most interesting parts of the cinematic experience were most definitely audience reactions Like the cute toddler nearby, who kept asking what & why & said, @ half way thru the mind-numbing banality of it all, "Can we go home now?" Right on, kid! If it weren't for the fact that the lively lovely sat next to me was the most entertaining fidgetter I've ever seen in the flix, I'd have walked out, refund or no Why on Earth - or 29th century deep space - that got straight to US *1 is sure beyond me: I'll boycott it on TV - if this crazy world can last long enough for that Kinda like its theme Makers of kids' films have always, in my half-asleep memory, made sure it was entertaining for parents/grandparents/big bro's & sis's who buy tickets Reality check OH: @ today's theatre matinees - ya just need one URL & click on its world map for every theatre in any areaon this still-surviving planet http://www.theatresonline.com/ http://www.theatresonline.com/frameset.htm http://www.theatresonline.com/frameset/blackpool/centre_blackpool.htm That last is Blackpool, with alll 5 theater links to cloc on This is Liverpool, also with 5:- http://www.theatresonline.com/frameset/liverpool/centre_Liverpool.htm Manchester with 14 choices:- http://www.theatresonline.com/frameset/manchester/centre_manchester.htm Lancaster with 3:- http://www.theatresonline.com/frameset/lancaster/centre_Lancaster.htm I'll just link Chester then get back to bed http://www.theatresonline.com/frameset/chester/centre_chester.htm I'll maybe pick best reply @ 8.30-ish, to help folk who'll wake up/get up @ then, wondering what's best to do Could be EU's biggest & best zoo:- http://www.ChesterZoo.com - if today is cooler than usual for August (tryin' to keep my face straight @ 'global warming' this summer!) - the animals will be a lot maore lively & entertaining, as they tend to lie around & do nothing when it's very hot Kinda like da grossly obese, monosyllabically dumb slobs in WALL-E Close All

Resolved Question: How do you solve a problem like "Evita"?? (a.k.a. Elena Roger)?

Recently, I spent 100 pounds (the most I've ever spent) on two Evita stalls, (Adelphi Theatre, London) because the new acclaimed Argentian "star" Elena Roger got such rave reviews. Imagine my surprise to find a really 3rd rate understudy playing "Evita": she couldn't sing, dance or act and no under-study had been announced. At the interval, I found the manager and asked what was happening. He airily said "Oh, everyone knows Elena Roger doesn't perform at matinees or Mondays!! You should have been told!" Of course, I hadn't been told, neither had a theatre full of people, including a dozen other angry customers who all walked out at the interval. Would you term this a fraudulent practice and a flouting of The Trade Description Act? I have written Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber requesting my hundred pounds back. (Some hopes!)
