Resolved Question: Palin tells Ohio crowd 'Victory is coming', does she really believe this or is the fix on again in Ohio?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081103/ap_on_el_pr/palin Ohio was the 2000 Florida in the 2004 Presidential election. Palin is already claiming victory at a speech in Ohio today. Is Ohio in on the fix again or is Palin being delusional? Thoughts? Fortunately Ohio has a DEMOCRATIC Governor & State Secretary (in charge of the elections) unlike they did in 2004.

Resolved Question: Is this Yahoo/Associated Press story Wrong? McCain lost?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081029/ap_on_el_pr/road_to270;_ylt=AsTj2MLO93IVgqdjx7W2W0Cs0NUE Basically this latest article says that Obama has the election in the bag. Obama has amassed more than 286 electoral votes ( 270 needed). Even if McCain sweeps the six toss-up states,Florida, Indiana, Missouri, North Carolina, Nevada and Ohio, he will only have 252 electoral votes not enough to win. So is this story wrong? Why would Yahoo and Associated Press print a false story? Isn't Associated Press just trying to report the facts? Or should then not report them?

Resolved Question: Which company should I apply to? What's my "job title" for my occupation? Salary?

I'm having a huge problem locating a job right now. I'm a Romanian Citizen and US Green Card holder. I'm finishing my last University of Florida class via mail and actively seeking employment. I will graduate with a Political Science degree. I've worked for 8 years, throughout high-school too, helping my parents' wholesale supplier company with locating and coordinating suppliers and transport from the PR China, Italy and the Czech Rep. I worked as a translator and a general contact person for suppliers, not having anything to do with sales, strictly foreign companies. Trouble is, this ... View All

Trouble is, this was for a Romanian Company and I am currently in the US, a resident alien, also none of my experience is recorded officially since I was their son I just went ahead and worked for them: document translations (including contracts and product instructions), general troubleshooting, supplier relations, transporter relations. After a while I was left pretty much on my own with vague instructions but still kept doing my job right. I was never treated as the boss's kid, but never actually was paid a salary (I didn't actually need it). I'd LOVE to keep doing this, I still do it although I am in Florida I'm on the phone and internet half my nights, I enjoy it enormously, it is often very exciting and it stimulates me. I want to do this full time, or work in public administration somewhere where I could have an impact. I am ready for the next level, I speak 4 languages (En-Fr-Sp-Romanian) and I'm a hard worker I'm used w/ dealing w/ 3 time zones. What is my "job title" in the US ? What kind of salary should I ask for? What "field" should I seek jobs in when I look for jobs online? What are some good companies I can apply to ? What's a good alternate occupation I should look into that will still allow me to apply myself to the max? I am definitely financially motivated and having more responsibility would be a "plus". Thank you for bearing with me to the end of this very long description. Close All

Resolved Question: Would someone please explain the "work requirement" to Sen. Obama's tax plan?

Does this mean that only those working are eligible for the 10% credit? "ORLANDO, Fla. – Republican John McCain on Thursday spiced up a cross-state bus tour aimed at keeping vote-rich Florida from swinging to the Democrats by accusing rival Barack Obama of saying "anything to get elected." McCain complained that the Democratic nominee had added a work requirement to his proposal to grant a 10 percent universal mortgage credit. A top Obama aide said the campaign made the change two weeks ago to avoid charges the proposal provided "welfare" to the unemployed. "Thirteen days to go, and he changed his ... View All

"Thirteen days to go, and he changed his tax plan because the American people had learned the truth about it and they didn't like it," McCain told a crowd at a lumber yard. "It's another example that he'll say anything to get elected." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081023/ap_on_el_pr/mccain Close All

Resolved Question: Does this prove my belief about McCain supporters?

I've personally noticed that all of the people I encounter who say they're voting for McCain are uneducated whites from the lowest income brackets, and from rural, backwards areas (such as northwestern Florida, Alabama, Kentucky, etc.), and I find it odd because these people would most benefit from a Democratic president. I just found THIS on an article here (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081022/ap_on_el_pr/ap_poll_presidential_race) : "McCain also has: - Posted big gains among likely voters earning under $50,000 a year; he now trails Obama by just 4 percentage points compared with 26 earlier. - Surged among ... McCain and Obama are running about even among white college graduates, no change from earlier..." So I'm not just imagining that a great deal of McCain's base consists of lower class, uneducated whites! WHY would they want to vote for McCain, though? Don't they realize they won't benefit in any way from his being elected?? Close All
