Fountain Inn is a small town in South Carolina, United States. The population was 6,017 at the 2000 census, and estimated at 6,440 in 2003. Fountain Inn is presently undergoing a revitalization program that has citizen input and support. There are several festival's in Fountain Inn which include: Aunt Het Day, based on syndicated cartoon columnist Robert Quillen, that brings in several thousand visitors as Main Street is closed and filled with many unique vendors. It boast the Peg Leg Bates Foundation, honoring the famed dancer by hosting an annual dance competition to support children's growth and development. The city comes to life under candlelight with the Spirit of Christmas Past Festival that is always a hit with Horse Drawn Carriage Rides, Outdoor events and Performing Arts venues. Fountain Inn is making great strides in Greenway and Downtown development with matching grants from the city, state and local governmental funds.
