This is our favorite place on earth! Our view is so unbelievable that we just sit outside in our lounge chairs and stare at the beauty. There is such peace that it feels like we are on vacation every single day. I have a toss-up for my favorite thing; it's a tie between watching the wildlife and eating all the wild plums my stomach will hold. The elk are majestic animals and such fun to watch, especially during the rut. The quail have hundreds of tiny little chicks that run around in our yard each spring. When the little ones grow up, they can't decide if they want to be one of the chickens or if they want to be a quail. Eventually, they go back with their family. The turkeys are just the funniest things! They always scurry by, without a second look, as if they are running late for a meeting. The wild plums, oh my are they delicious! We have about 10 trees that produce the sweetest little plums about the size of a cherry. There is always plenty for us and for sharing with friends. We let them ripen to perfection after picking and then pit them with a cherry pitter. It's so easy! Then, make anything you can dream of or just eat them as is, which is mostly what we do. We enjoy hiking, biking, rafting, riding UTV's, bird watching (we'll even give our bluebird box on the Garden Valley Bluebird Trail to the new owners), 4-wheeling, chili cook-offs, James Castle celebration/Spring Fling, art shows, farmer's market, Terrace Lakes Golf Resort's Wine & Art Festival, Downtown Crouch's famous July 4th celebration with Soap Box Derby for the kids, rodeos, Trunk or Treat, town Christmas tree lighting, community dances, New Year lantern lighting and sendoff. Wow, our little town has some fun things to do but the best part is our amazing friends and community! No one is ever left with an unmet need and we all look out for one another. You will find a wonderful way of life here in Garden Valley!
