OVERVIEW

This beautifully remodeled northwest contemporary home is perfectly located for life in the Seattle metro area. The house backs to parkland on the north and east sides and it is a short walk to the Island Park Elementary School and the Yeshiva High School. The front (western) side of the house provides beautiful views of the Olympics, Seattle skyline, Lake Washington and, or course, our colorful sunsets.
The living room, dining room, family room and kitchen all have high vaulted ceilings with remote-controlled skylights. Living and family rooms have wood-burning fireplaces which add cheer and warmth in the winter.
The kitchen, kitchen nook and family room have rustic slate floors with hot-water radiant heating. The kitchen is a true chef's delight with solid walnut cabinets, Miele double ovens with four rotisseries, Viking range and hood with six burners, gas grill and griddle, Subzero refrigerator, wine cooler and freezer, Miele dishwasher, Franke stainless steel sinks (heavy gauge so they don't dent), Newport Brass faucets. The hood is gigantic, you can grill fish or stew curries without smelling them anywhere in the house. The wet bar adjoins the kitchen with French doors leading to the large, Roman patio so very convenient for outdoor dining.
All three bathrooms are recently redone in marble with walk-in showers. Fixtures are high-end Hans Grohe or Kohler. The master bath has a gigantic rain shower and a jet tub as well as a Toto (automatic) toilet/bidet.
The attic has been re-insulated and Milguard fiberglass, double-pane casement windows installed everywhere.
The master bedroom has vaulted ceilings, riff cut white oak wide plank floor and a walk-in closet.
A new dual channel security system was installed this year. The bedrooms and hallway have Next, wired smoke/CO2 detectors. The house is wired with cat-6 though we now use mostly wifi. Sprinkler system is computer-controlled and weather-smart (cancels scheduled watering if it's raining, also adjusts schedule seasonally). There is a natural gas powered full-house Kohler generator with automatic switching in case of any power outages. A Daikin mini-split heat pump provides heat and air conditioning for the master bedroom.
The back and side yards have been extensively landscaped. There are three patios. There is a fish pond with waterfall which lends a very zen effect. The patio on the south end of the house has a fire pit and really incredible views of Lake Washington and Seattle.
We both love gardening but not particularly lawn care so there are flowers galore even some strange winter bloomers. Also, as you might guess from the kitchen, there's a reasonable herb garden: thyme, oregano, sage, rosemary, bay laurel and lemon mint.
